For those who missed it, there was a most interesting piece on Springwatch last night about swifts and monogamy (or not!) - I thoroughly recommend a look.  I did wonder how he tells individuals apart.

I had the exact same thought about telling them apart! I noticed some of them had rings on their legs but not all

Colour ringing. Fascinating study, presented at the sln conference last November and again now at the international swift conference in county mayo.
