Dear SWAT Users,
I hope you all are doing fine and will be able to run SWAT model without Errors..:)

I have a problem during SWAT run (Document attached below)
I am trying to Implement inlet in my SWAT run process (i.e., After creating Stream Network and outlet, In the process of Outlet and Inlet Definition I am selecting Point source input option and then I am selecting the point where I want to include the inlet data)
Then I proceed further, (watershed delineation, HRU created and Write all tables are done) I go to the option of Edit SWAT Input> Point source discharge >Select Point Source>Edit values> Daily Records>Average Daily Daily Loading File is Uploded>Edit Values >Exit.
After this step I Rewrite SWAT input files again. So the inlet is included in all the process and Then I run SWAT Model.

I have checked the data format there is nothing wrong in it. I have created as same as the SWAT example data.

NOW COMES THE PROBLEM:
THE SWAT RUN WITHOUT INLET AND SWAT RUN WITH INLET HAVE THE SAME RESULT.
I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG IN THE PROCESS AND WHY THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE RESULT.
I believe that SWAT is not reading the inlet during the process but when I check the 54.dat file in the scenarios folder I can see the data is analysed.

If anyone have any idea please reply me back.
Your help will be appreciated.
Thank you

Regards,
Veena

Veena -

The error indicates that there is not enough data in the 54p.dat file (e.g., end of file encountered error).

You can send me your current txtinout, if you are having troubles finding the problem.

Nancy

Hi Everyone,

Two years later...I am having the same issue, even with the inlet discharge data successfully loaded to my model, my flow_out remains constant.
Please help if you have solved this issue.

Thank you,

Hi Mary. I have solved this problem before. The reason the results remained unchanged after I input the inlet data was due to a unit mismatch in the mathematical calculation. The user manual specifies that the input flow rate should be in cubic meters per month (m³/month), rather than the commonly used cubic meters per second (m³/s). After correcting the unit conversion, the model produced the expected results. I hope this helps resolve your issue.

I had the same problem once.. Then I realized the problem was de units. I was using L/s, but you have to enter daily flow, there for you must multipy you flow data if it is in L/s * 86,400
( there are 86,400 seconds in a day: 24 hours×60 minutes per hour×60 seconds per minute=86,400).
Hope it helps.
