Sub daily precipitation input

Hello,

Could anyone help me with the right format of the precipitation sub daily input in SWAT+ latest? I am trying to use SWAT2012 format but still getting error.  Following is my pcp file format

ID,NAME,LAT,LONG,ELEVATION
1,robpcp,51.860968,-8.782832,48.078564

and following is the robpcp file format which is not accepted by SWAT+ editor

20210101, 60

0
0
0
0.8

......

Could you help me with the right format? My data is hourly. Thanks in advance.

Hello Faisal,

The attached file and Python code will be the format you need to generate a 1-hour rainfall time series for a three days storm for  instance.

Is it possible to run SWAT+ with precipitation Only if I don't have temperature, wind speed values?

Yes, you can run a simulation with only daily precipitation.   The model will use the weather generator parameters to simulate the other weather related data.

Good day,

I am also getting errors even with the assisted creation of sub-daily precipitation files. I get this window whenever I run the model.

I am also attaching the generated pcp.cli and .pcp files (compressed in .zip) generated using the tool.

It's our first time to migrate to the SWAT+ environment, so far the importing and running the model in the sub-daily timestep has been a hurdle for us.

If you change the number of years in the measured precip file(s) to 13 it will run successfully.

The model allocates precip with the years in the measured file and not what is input in time.sim.

  

An example with the first file:

I would also like to mention that it’s not necessary to choose all print options/timesteps in the ‘print.prt’ file.  This creates many output files that are empty or no outputs included.  A couple of them need to be changed in order to get a successful simulation.   They are HYDCON and FDCOUT as seen in the partial file sample:

Although you are using a model version from 8/2024, it should run after these edits.  Let me know if does not.
