I was just browsing through the Swarm DropBox account, and I found my old FAQ.  I used to post it on the old email list a couple times a year.
Yeah, some parts are out of date.  Let's see... All the ASSTR stuff is OBE.  All the old "ShadowGard" email list stuff is OBE.  And, yeah, all the old wiki stuff is OBE.
Still, it's entertaining.  All, please let me know what else needs to be updated besides those three sections?

Having read this, I find a lot of value, and is truly entertainment, but a LOT of it is outdated.  I’m surprised at talk about postings to asstr.org in HTML because I had to manually go through every file, and I stopped 8 or 9 years ago not just because asstr.org was dying but because I just couldn’t deal with it anymore, not being a true webmaster.  I thanked whatever deity was out there that I didn’t have to do such things on SOL.

I’m not gonna do markup.  A1 & A2 are obviously busted.  Is brooke still out there?  I hope so, even though we haven’t seen much from her.  BTW Pact 6 IS out there.

I write in Word, but in RTF.  I get my edits back that way, stick the approved version in a database program that does a fine job of conversion to text and even concatenating individual chapters into one story file.  Sadly, I can’t recommend it, because it does other wonderful things like helping me keep my characters and timeline straight, which would be a wonderful thing, but it’s no longer out there for download and there is some licensing code in it, so it probably can’t be pirated.

Anyway, yeah, see if you can bring this up to date.  I laughed a couple of times and it is a good indicator of how we try to operate.  Obviously, Mike and QM should probably update the mechanics of the list, although much of how Google Groups works seems similar to the old mailing list.

Working on the parts of the FAQ that I may possibly have some competence in revising. Proof will be in the pudding.

Brooke was invited to join, but I don't think she has accepted the invitation.

I've been using Manuskript for composition lately. It's not perfect, but it takes plain text and interprets Markdown tags, and produces some pretty clean html, if you ask it nicely.

When I do proofreading, I've been using LibreOffice Writer to do the markup, and converting to rtf for output. Seems to me to be a bit cleaner way to handle recommended changes.

Going back to sleep now.
