Title= Studios Residual Business Analyst
Location= Burbank, CA
Duration= 6 months
*Description:*
The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of Studio
accounting processes, specifically in the area of Residuals Payments and
Reporting. They should be conversant in the area of Residuals, Guild
Rules, and their interaction with the Payroll process. They will be
responsible for executing the strategic vision for Residuals Payment &
Reporting process supporting the Walt Disney Studio Finance and Accounting
teams.
*Responsibilities:*
- Elicit business requirements, analyze, specify/refine, and validate
the requirements with clients to determine minimum viable product (MVP)
- Serve as a key contact to manage requirements discussions with Teams
from Residuals, Payroll, and Technology
- Manage to the MVP and ensure product delivery is in accordance with
Business and Technology needs
- Create visual models for software requirements that will help
comprehend, illustrate, and translate for development
- Document user stories and ensure backlog is outpacing development work
- Assist Product Owner with prioritizing user stories and assist in
creating overall feature release plan
- Partner with Residuals and Payroll to understand Guild rules,
residuals and payroll processes and translate to Project Team
- Partner with Development Team to clarify user stories, acceptance
criteria, and mitigate blockers
- Partner with QA Team to assist in creating test plans and acceptance
criteria
- Reinforce Agile Practices
- Cultivate and nurture SCRUM Teams
- Challenge the Teams in collaborative discussions, debate, negotiate,
and compromise to ultimately provide the user community with the best
solution while promoting a safe Team environment
- Evaluate information from multiple sources and help distinguish user
requests from user needs
- Interface with all levels of internal clients and analyze current
business and software development processes
- Assist in building business cases
- Measure impact of solutions on the Business & Technology
*Qualifications:*
- 12+ yrs of experience performing business analysis preferably in the
media and entertainment arena
- Agile certification and experience using Agile SCRUM methodology in
the Product Owner role
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate with both
technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong partnering skills and ability to work within a collaborative
team environment
- Proven ability to meet project milestones and customer expectations
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio or
equivalent, software requirements visualization tools (ie-RML)
- Strong business definition capabilities, including the ability to
create visual models for software requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical developers and
translate business requirements as required
- Responsive to business needs and highly motivated to improve the
skills and capabilities of his/her organization
- A sense of ownership and responsibility for successful delivery
- Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
- Must be able to work independently, support several projects
simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration,
Operations or Finance
