Another kyujo from the Haru Jungyo :  The Kyokai announced on today that Asahakuryuu has withdrawn from the jungyo due to "acute lower back pain." The number of kyujo rikishi has reached 12.

Hidenoumi held his retirement Press Conference today and revealed his feelings towards his younger brother, Makuuchi Tobizaru. He was worried about his brother when he first joined the sumo world. "I thought we would be in the same heya but it turned out to be a different one, and he was small, so I thought he wouldn't make it." However, while Hidenoumi's highest rank was East Maegashira 6, Tobizaru was promoted to Komusubi. "Before I knew it, he had surpassed me in both skill and fame, and I felt frustrated," he recalled. Nevertheless, his feelings for his brother were special. "He appears in the media a lot, and I was happy that many people would say to me, 'You're Tobizaru's older brother, right?'" he smiled. His 14-year sumo career "went by in a flash." Looking forward to his brother's future success, he offered his support, saying, "I hope he continues to be active for as long as possible."

The Kyokai announced today that the number of cases in 2025 in which they have taken measures such as suspending official fan club memberships for illegal ticket resale has reached 138. This measure is being taken to combat malicious reselling as sumo wrestling's popularity grows. Tickets for the six bashos held annually have sold out for all 90 days for two consecutive years, making them extremely difficult to obtain. The Kyokai invalidates tickets that have been illegally resold.
