Regarding Ozeki Kotozakura who was absent from the 14th day of Aki basho due to a right knee injury, his Oyakata spoke to reporters on the 2nd and revealed that there was "no tear." He injured his right knee in a match against Houshouryuu on day13, and submitted a medical certificate to the Kyokai stating that "he has damaged the medial collateral ligament in his right knee and is expected to be fully recovered in three weeks." After the basho on September 29th, he underwent an MRI scan and his condition was found to be not too serious. "The internal bleeding has subsided," and treatment with regenerative medicine is also underway. It is not yet decided whether he will join the London tour from October 15th to 19th or the next basho, but his Oyakata said, "He is becoming much more mobile." He is said to be positive about showing up for the upcoming danpatsushikis , and the dohyo-iri at Meiji Jingu in Tokyo."I'll lend you one," said Sadogatake, lending one of the supporters he had on both of his knees to Kotozakura. While he was amazed at his pupil's recovery, saying, "He's healing quite quickly," he also seemed cautious, saying, "I'm sure he's thinking, 'I want to get better quickly,' but I'm trying not to push him too hard. The way his knee was moving was not normal."
