Bulgarian veteran Aoiyama has acquired Japanese citizenship, it was learned today. This paves the way for his remaining with the Kyokai after his retirement when that happens. He is the second European rikishi to acquire Japanese citizenship after compatriot ex-Ozeki Kotooushuu (Naruto Oyakata).
