Yokozuna contender Kirishima went to Tokitsukaze beya for degeiko today, faced Nishikigi, Hokutofuji, Shoudai, Gounoyama, Ouhou, and Hokuseihou and was 29-4 in 40 minutes of intensive sumo. "I could gone on and on.. I wanted to do more!" he enthused. "I wanted to do strong sumo from the get go with a strong tachiai and properly move my body," he added, even showing an occasional hari-zashi. He showed no signs of his shoulder bothering him, unlike yesterday at the YDC soken where he didn't do so well. "My shoulder is fine. I won't be hurrying things. *I'll only be doing what I can do," he summed.
*Seems like "I can only do what I can do" is the new "I will gambarize!"
Hatsu basho starts this Sunday, January 14th.
