Aonishiki explained the injury he sustained during his bout today. He pushed out Takanoshou to secure his seventh win, but lost his balance while pushing him out and fell off the dohyo. He stumbled to the left, and when he tried to brace himself with his left foot, his second step was insufficient, causing him to collapse. He remained motionless off the dohyo for a while, creating an uneasy atmosphere. He limped slowly down the hanamichi into the furoba (bath). His tsukebito ran back and forth between the shitakubeya  and the furoba with a plastic bag full of ice, creating a tense atmosphere. After washing off the sweat in the bath, Aonishiki placed ice on his left big toe while his hair was being tied up. When asked if it was his toe, he explained, "It felt like my toe hit something." When asked about the pain, he said, "I'm not sure yet."
