Bob just posted a couple of Copper Blue vids. Could he be teasing some new release? 35th anniversary is in 2027. Almost typed 25th and had to fix it. Christ, we're old.

…or maybe the three of them might have been able to schedule a tour??? Wasn’t he trying to organise that around the time he made Silver Age but they couldn’t make the dates work?

I really hope there's more to this than the vinyl single re-release for RSD.

I will also add fuel (ha) to the fire.  Malcolm Travis was spotted backstage at the Boston band show in the spring.  I think it might have even been Jason who posted that pic.

It would be pretty weird for Bob to get Sugar back together. He doesn't usually do nostalgia. But he clearly still has the itch for touring and I bet Jon and Jason's schedules limit the amount of full band touring he can do.

I'm sure they plan these things out at least a year in advance so J&J would be able block time to tour with Bob vs their other projects. I'd be really surprised to see him tour with the original SUGAR lineup, but a bit less surprised to see him do that album with J&J. 

Related, but I see The Joke is Always On Us is available on vinyl via a UK label (with the Granary logo on back too) - not sure how I missed that, but I'll probably grab one at some point. The Copper Blue B-sides 4x12" is interesting but 2 songs per side X 4LPs is not for me. The live B-sides are from 1992 (also at the Metro) and I'd be more interested in that entire show.  

I wish he'd release the stand-alone remaster of Black Sheets that was in the big box set. A deluxe-ed with a live album from that tour would be awesome.

Didn't they tour 15 years ago , performing Sugar songs only? Might have been a celebration of Copper Blue with Jason and Jon.

I usually chat at some length with Bob whenever I see him, but he only shares info about upcoming projects with me on a need-to-know basis, and I have no direct involvement with this one so I'm in the dark. I only know that he's up to something related to Copper Blue--which is exactly what he's now teasing us about. My own wish is that he'd someday release the Copper Blue demos. He's made no secret that he thinks highly of them, and in the past he's spoken about possibly putting together a box set of his demos and unpublished songs. That was more than 15 years ago though.

Thanks for the info about the RSD Copper Blue singles offering, John. I hadn't heard about that.

I might sound ornery -- it wouldn't be the first time on this mailing list -- but like most RSD releases these days this feels less than essential (too put it mildy).

Also: it seems incomplete, what happened to the BBC tracks from the If I Can't Change Your Mind single?

Hmm. That Insta tidbit is definitely interesting and some sort of evidence that something is up.

Could just be the RSD release of course but personally it feels to me a little bit beyond that.

I'm not buying it.  No way Jason is gonna spill the beans of course.  But this slow-drip tease for some RSD single re-presses?  The last clip was Bob writing up a Beaster-era setlist, and that's new footage I haven't seen before.  My money's on the band re-forming for a tour.  One time!!

If it's not a tour, a Copper Blue demo release will suffice.

Train and ticket booked for Bob s show in Paris, 40 years after I did the same thing for Husker Du s first French show !
I wouldn’t do all that for many bands !!

I was thinking about this -- obviously I'll take any form a tour might take, but my dream is a series of big city two-night stands, first is copper blue + beaster, second is FUEL + b-sides. I could not get my credit card out for tickets and flights fast enough.
