Just saw Jason open for a Soul Asylum acoustic show in tiny little Grand Rapids, MN last night. Really good show in a small theatre. A few weeks ago I was digging into Jason's catalog and found "Woodshed" from '94 for the first time. Wow! great album, bought a digital copy on BandCamp and listened straight through. Listened to it several more times since then and wishing they had done more albums together. Solid from start to finish..

 I found some old links to some live recordings of them together but they were all dead links. Anyone willing to share again? "Flag" stands out as one of my favorites on the album.

To Nels: thanks for the inadvertent reminder, I had this draft ready to go but spaced on it. Copy/paste/edit:

Hi all,

Don't recall ever seeing these mentioned on the list:

* https://archive.org/details/ajc00331_splitsingle2014-04-05
* https://archive.org/details/jasonnarducyandmichaelshannon2024-02-14
* https://archive.org/details/jasonnarducy2025-10-04

(I could have sworn there are/were also Verbow shows on archive.org, but can't find them right now.)

Yours in semi-old age,

Martin

Thanks Martin, that 2025 show is a very similar setlist to last night. Hoping someone might have something with Alison..love the strings along with the guitar. I talked to Jason at the merch table last night and he told me about when he and Alison played with Bob on the Letterman show. He said Bob's guitar had gone out of tune badly on one string and Bob hits the first chord of the song and looked at Jason, who could not do anything of course..so Bob apparently played the whole song skipping that string. Jason told me which string but I am not a guitar player and can't remember...

Yes, I'm something of a Jason completist and have recorded at least five of his shows, including a Jason & Alison living room one, it was a 4:00 show in Baltimore. I'm pretty sure I've shared that one to the list in the past.
Because storytelling has become such a big part of his act, he has gotten prickly about people recording and sharing his monologues. I will withhold those in the future and focus on the music.
Thanks for the archive.org links. Those must have been uploaded fairly recently. The other one that is publicly available is https://www.nyctaper.com/2014/06/split-single-may-21-2014-glasslands-flacmp3streaming/. Part of that recording was used in the official Split Single Live EP. There are a couple of radio shows out there, but they are just a few songs each, not full shows.
I suppose I have to get an archive.org account and start uploading, in my abundant spare time.
I don't think I've ever seen a Verbow audience recording before, just the Skinny (proto-Verbow) show in Chicago opening for Bob and the two Schubas shows that were compiled into a Live CD. Jason made three different Verbow bootleg CDs available for mail order in the 2000s, a Volume I, Volume II, and a different Volume II. The equivalents for Split Single are on Bandcamp.

Long live Jason!

P.S. Thank you for the Google Drive link, but I'm very close to my Google quota and can't upload anything non-trivially big to it at this time.

Thanks Jeff, that nyctaper link sounds great. I continued my Google search and it sounds like they possibly had a release called  Jason & Alison – Live at the Old Town School of Folk Music.

Can't find anything other than a mention of it on my search. No paid digital downloads or CD's that I could find. Maybe just Google hallucinating?

I have Verbow 1997-01-23 and 1997-02-15. The second one is at The Vic, not Schuba's... but I imagine it's nothing new to you. :) Now, about this:

Long live Jason!

Yes. And also long live HELEN MONEY!
