Any plans to support Chromebooks in the future? I've about given up on Windows, and I've never drank the Apple juice, my Chromebook does almost everything I need. It would be nice to be able to download my dive computer using it vs firing up my seldom used and way out of date Windows laptop.

You can install the Android version and give it a try.  I'm running the Android version on my pixelbook.  Unfortunately, I'm not able to download from my Perdix AI because the Pixelbook can't see the thing over bluetooth but I kinda think that any of the USB/UART based computers very well might work.  Also coming soon is the ability to install Linux applications on Chromebooks when 69 hits stable a decent number of them will support running Linux applications in a container.  Which will be nice because the Linux version allows for better visualization of the information in the chart and weights and what not...

Not sure what all it means but I tried to get the full Subsurface application on my pixelbook..  I started by enabling Linux in the developer channel..  Then started the terminal and ran:

sudo apt install software-properties-common

This installs the utilities needed to add a repository...  I then ran:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:subsurface/subsurface

That didn't work and here is what happened when I tried that:

Way back in time, there was some support for Native Client in Qt: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_for_Google_Native_Client . I think its all dead now.

It might work with some tinkering to get the "linux" version going on a chromebook, with the linux app mode thingie.

Another idea to try is to build the desktop ui for android, and then install it on your chromebook, and then you can get the desktop app on your chromebook.

None of these will be "of the shelf" and will all require some amount of tinkering, but I see no reason why it won't be possible. It will probably be tricky to get downloads working, but hey, it might be possible.

how did you get the android app installed on your pixelbook?  I'm running it on my tablet and cellphone, and it works well, but I haven't been able to figure out how to install it on my Chromebook.

Thanks,
Gary

Just open the app store and told it to install Subsurface. Like I said I've not been able to get computer download to work and the computer has no gps so you can't run the location services but you can view all your data and if you drag the window into a horizontal orientation you get a nice split screen tablet type view.
