I have a Dive Rite Nitek Duo which is a Seiko dive computer identical to the Tusa -IQ700, Zeagle N2itive, and the Cressi Sub Archimedes.  I have a Macbook Air (Monterey) and a Lenovo Thinkpad (Windows10) with your newest software installed.  It works well with my Oceanic Proplus 3 (USB cable) but fails to work with the Dive Rite Nitek Duo.   The software fails to recognize the USB downloader clip when using it with the Macbook or the PC.    Any help you could offer would be a great service.

You may need to install drivers for the docking station/clip/cable, the Nitec Duo certainly talks about that.

Unfortunately for Seiko based dive computers, the situation is a bit more
complicated. Their PC interface uses a non-standard USB VID/PID (which means the
standard Prolific driver won't recognize it), and their application also doesn't
use the standard usb-serial driver (which means the installed driver won't work
with subsurface).

On the libdivecomputer website I have some detailed instructions to patch the
Prolific driver and add the Seiko USB VID/PID:

https://www.libdivecomputer.org/drivers.html#seiko

But I have no idea if this still works on newer Windows and Mac versions. They
were written around the Windows XP time.

On Linux the kernel driver should work out-of-the-box.

Hey Daniel. Unfortunately Subsurface can't do anything about it.  Monterey wouldn't accept so old driver from Prolific, neither patched with right PID/VID nor unpatched. I tried to rebuild driver for macOS 12.4 using sources from GitHub with no success - in Monterey many things from legacy USB API deprecated and no longer works. So the only brand new driver made from scratch could work. But it seems unlikley that Prolific will support so old chipset.
At the moment I'm in the process of creating new USB cable for IQ700 and all Seiko family that will work with all modern OS, including Monterey and Win10/11

A new USB cable with new software?  Sounds good.  I wish I had programming and engineering skills to help.  Let’s stay in touch.
