Hi,

Basically as per the title really, and would appreciate some help.

My Perdix with AI GPS tank pod doesn't work with Subsurface mobile on Android. I would just use the Shearwater app, but it doesn't import the co-ordinates for some reason.

There are only options inside of Subsurface mobile are for Perdix AI, not Perdix 3 AI, and no way to add it I don't think???

Thanks in advance, let me know if any other info would be useful.

Just to add, I've tried pairing the computer and the phone, and tried the options of both Perdix AI, and Perdix 2, and neither one works.

Just so that others who are searching for this are aware.

The Perdix 3 is not yet supported. There is some code out there that appears to help with that, it's working its way through libdivecomputer and Subsurface processes.

This will take a little while, but we should have this working in the not too distant future.

/D

Just to follow this one up, I've installed the 6.0.5655 (nightly build, I think it's called) and everything works perfectly, in both Android and Linux :)

I just wanted to say a massive thank-you, to everyone, for all the work that went into creating it, and the support here.

Many thanks, it's very much appreciated.

This is odd. Having loaded a file of previous dives, saved from another computer, into the cloud, it won't now add newer dives from the Shearwater.

They are in the Shearwater Dive app, but Subsurface Mobile insists there aren't any new dives on the computer - but there are, I can see them in it's logbook.

Any ideas please?

What version of Subsurface are you using?

Hi everyone,

I was struggling with downloading my dives to subsurface last night with my new Perdix 3 and stumbled upon this post. I went and downloaded the nightly apk and installed it. Unfortunately, for me, when trying to download, it connects to the Perdix 3 but gives me an Import input/output error. Any suggestions?

Hi Marc,

Happy to help if I can. What device are you using?

I found with my phone I had to remove the Android Bluetooth link from the Android menu, set the Shearwater into new pairing mode, and then open subsurface and make the connection from there.

In Linux, I had to pair the Shearwater and the laptop using the operating system menus in order to allow subsurface to see it when opened.

I hope this helps, I expect someone much cleverer than me can give more details.

Cheers

Colin

Hi Colin, thanks for responding.

I'm using a Pixel 10. I managed to get it to work actually. I eventually noticed that the phone was trying to pair with the Perdix again and once I saw that notification and accepted the pairing, it worked like a charm.

Do you need to re-pair it this way everytime you go to download the dives or once Subsurface has downloaded successfully, it will work the next time?

Cheers,
Marc

No worries Marc, I'm glad you got it working.

I think next time you want to download new dives, I've found I have to put the phone and the dive computer next to each other, and go to the pairing screen, which will say something along the lines of "no need to re-pair..." And then subsurface is able to connect to it.

It doesn't seem to work if you don't do that extra step of opening the Bluetooth menu, which is odd, but it could well just be my phone being a bit rubbish.

I'd be interested to hear how it behaves for you?

Cheers

Thanks Colin. I've got more dives coming up this weekend, so I'll let you know then.

Cheers,

Marc
