Is there any way to import Garmin Dive Logs from their Descent MK2, into subsurface?

Thanks,

Subsurface always reports a "failure to parse" error message, when I try to import the garmin .fit file

Any ideas?

Well. Have you checked if there have been other discussions on this subject?
Have you considered giving us ANY useful information?
Like, what OS are you on? Which app are you trying to use? Subsurface-mobile 3.2.1 on iOS? Subsurface 5.0.3 on Ubuntu Linux?
How are you connecting the watch (ok, that second message from you at least contains an error message and from that I know that you tried to connect via USB)?
Things like this.

I get really tired of "guess the problem" games.
And I find it exhausting to answer the same questions and write the same suggestions over and over again.

Sorry for the lack of information.
I've been on the Google Subspace forum many times looking for information.

Mac OS Big Sur
Subsurface 5.0.3
Garmin MK2 Descent

I've downloaded the Garmin .fit files onto my mac, using the Android File Transfer application.

When I try to import the garmin .fit file into Subsurface using "import log files",
I get the red bar at the bottom of the screen.

Any further ideas?

Thanks,

Don't do that.
Connect the Garmin and kill the Android File Transfer app. The Garmin watch isn't an Android device and the AFT app prevents other apps from accessing it. Ideally tell the AFT app not to open when the Garmin is connected.
Open Subsurface
Command-D for download
Select Garmin and Descent Mk2/Mk2i
leave the device input box empty (it will find the MTP device by itself, unless it was already claimed by some other app like the Android File Transfer app)
Download
