Yesterday, I downloaded some dives from my Teric into Subsurface-mobile, on my phone (which syncs to the cloud).

Today, I ran Subsurface on my Windows 10 desktop. When it loads, it shows this message at the bottom left. I checked for updates and did not have the latest, so I updated to v5.0.4. Re-run Subsurface and I still get this message.

Any idea what is going on or what this means?

Anyone of you developers that has access to my logfile (under this same email address) is welcome to look at my log if you want. (just giving permission in advance, in case it saves time – not that I’m in a hurry)

Just an FYI, I just added some info to my log and saved it.

Exit Subsurface, start it again.

Now when I load it, I don’t get the message anymore.

Stuart,
This is part of a new stateful system for downloads that is being worked on by Dirk, this new system should speed up the process of downloading with certain computers. This change was implemented after 5.0.4 (5.0.4.25 to be exact) on the desktop and  with 3.4.1 on the mobile application. The error you were seeing was likely because your mobile app is up-to-date and has this new feature so injected this fingerprint file but the desktop application didn't know how to process this so threw up this message. It's not really an error as such but I can see how it could be interpreted as such. Once this new change gets merged into the stable version of the desktop application (probably in 5.0.5 when that's released) this will simply go away.

Regards
Jason
