Having trouble with bluetooth for my shearwater Petrel

I am running Windows 7, Shearwater Petrel 1, Subsurface 4.7.6

Hello,
  I was wondering if you could help with something.  I have a Shearwater Petrel 2.  I am trying to sync it following the instructions in the user manual but I am not having any success.  When I go to file, then configure dive computer, I search for my computer via bluetooth and it finds it.  But then when I press "retrieve available details" it does not work.  I get a message on my dive computer that says in red "SLIP RX: TIMEOUT" and says it is quitting.  Why is this and can this be fixed at all?
    It also will not work when I try the function "Download from dive computer"  Any suggestions?  I know this is not your program but I was hoping maybe you could help.  Thank you.

File->Configure dive computer is exactly what the name indicates... configuring a dive computer. Shearwater dive computers aren't supported for that feature.

Download from dive computer  is what you are looking for.

Please make sure that you open that dialog, check the Bluetooth checkbox, than scan for your dive computer, make sure that it is paired, and then try to download from it.

This is all explained in the user manual.

  Yes, I understand all that and read the manual.  I did the "Download from dive computer" option but that did not work.  I clicked the Bluetooth download button.  Still did not work.  I got the error "Error opening the device Petrel (00:13:43:0E:16) Shearwater (Petrel 2).  In most cases, in order to debug this issue, a libdivecomputer logfile will be can create this logfile by selecting the corresponding checkbox in the download dialog."  I did what it said but that has not helped at all (or I am not sure how to do it). So what should I try now?

I guess you could do what it tells you to do. Which is enable the libdivecomputer log file and send it to us?
