to Subsurface Divelog
I used to manually log my dives on Diviac until PADI absorbed it and now I can't login to Diviac any more, I can't even reset the password.

Perfect opportunity to migrate to Subsurface.

I use:
  • Latest version of Subsurface (4.7.7), just installed.
  • Windows 10.
  • Cressi PC Interface 2.0.2.37 (contains *all* of the logs from the dive computer - 83 full or partial "dives").
  • Cressi Giotto dive computer (contains dive logs since August).
  • Divac iOS phone app (I can still see my manually entered logs there, but it would be a nightmare to manually copy all of the details).
If I still had all the data still on the dive computer I could easily import them directly from the dive computer into Subsurface.  But since some data already rolled off the Giotto, that is not possible.

So, given what I have available, I would like to:

  • Get the data from the Cressi PC Interface.
  • Import the data into Subsurface.
  • Manually merge some imported dives in Subsurface so that I end up with the same set of dives I have on my iPhone Diviac app.
  • Manually update important details/comments from my iPhone Diviac app into the merged dives in Subsurface.
What stumps me are the first two steps.  The Cressi PC Interface only exports in .txt format, which is not supported by Subsurface.   In theory I could import into divelogs.de and from there to Subsurface, but it seems that divelogs.de only supports the old Cressi PC Logbook 6.0, not the newer Cressi PC Interface.

What options do I have?

Send me a sample .txt log and I'll take a look, what it would take to add support to subsurface.

We support importing from CSV files, so some data might be easier to write to a spread sheet and then import the .CSV - this will be manual, but probably faster in bulk import than using the Subsurface interface.

You should be able to login to Diviac using the following ULR: https://logbook.diviac.com/ with your original username and password. I can still login and use my logbook although not everrything works fine. I'm planning to switch over to Subsurface.
