Maintenance of substrait-fiddle.com

Hi all,

Voltron Data is shutting down AWS infrastructure and one of the properties being released is substrait-fiddle.com. Apache Arrow has a community held AWS account that has become a temporary home for the domain. Would substrait community like to take it over? I am not sure where the logic of the site was actually hosted.

I have no strong opinions about this. I don't personally intend to revive the fiddle.

Same.  The domain name is potentially interesting but also not likely to be picked up by anyone else anytime soon.

Rok, how long is it registered for if you know?

Maybe we just have Arrow hold it for now. If someone in Substrait wants it at some point, we can pay to transfer it over and start using it. Otherwise, we could just let expire...

Whois says it'll expire on 24th January 2026.

We also have an ec2 image for the server that was running it so reviving wouldn't be too hard if someone had motivation.

If you want I can prolong the domain for a year.

If nothing changes until then (24th January 2027) I'll let it expire and wipe the ec2 image.
