Dear all, I have a proposal to make, with my thanks as always to the creators of sp, who are obviously very busy. Let's create a new version ourselves. Our facilities are already on the verge of not supporting the php versions. What do you think? Best regards.

Dear SubjectsPlus Community
Thank you for your message and your continued interest in SubjectsPlus!
I have great news – we're actually very close to releasing the codebase as open source! We've been working toward this for some time, and we're nearly ready to make the repository public.
However, I want to be transparent about a few important considerations:
Current status:
Deployment considerations: We host our instance on Azure using Web Apps for Containers. Every environment is different, so your installation and deployment approach will likely differ from ours based on your infrastructure and requirements.
Our hope: We see this as an opportunity for the community to participate in the project's development. If you or others are interested in contributing – whether that's testing migrations, developing installation procedures, updating for newer PHP versions, or other improvements – we would absolutely welcome that collaboration!
This could be a great chance for institutions facing similar PHP version constraints to work together on solutions. Once the repository is public, we can coordinate on issues and pull requests through GitHub.
Would this approach work for your institution? I'd be happy to notify you as soon as the repository is available.
Best regards,
SubjectsPlus Dev Team
