Effective November 29, 2024, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has temporarily suspended international mail acceptance to Canada. This decision follows notification from the Canadian postal operator that they are unable to process or deliver international mail and services due to a national strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

What This Means for You:
Please refrain from mailing items to Canada until further notice. This service suspension impacts the following USPS international mail services:

  • Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI)

  • Priority Mail International® (PMI)

  • First-Class Mail International® (FCMI)

  • First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS)

  • International Priority Airmail® (IPA)

  • International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL)

  • Commercial ePacket® (CeP)

  • M-Bag® items

Stay Informed:
The Postal Service is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions change. For the latest information:

We encourage Stone Edge users to review their shipping practices and notify customers in Canada of potential delays. Thank you for your understanding during this disruption.

If you have any questions, please contact USPS directly or your Stone Edge representative for guidance.

Any updates on this?

We saw in the news that the strike is resolved, (https://www.thestar.com/business/canada-post-starts-accepting-commercial-mail-as-it-ramps-up-post-strike-operations/article_c11dd361-4a07-5479-a4ce-27a22110183f.html) but USPS still has a block noted on thir website (https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/).

Curious if you've heard any inside info on when we might be able to ship Canada again. We’ve got a few orders waiting, would like to set expectations w/ customers.

The information I have says that Canada will not be accepting international orders till the 23rd.   I have not heard anything of when USPS will start accepting packages.   I would assume USPS has a backlog of packages already that they would need to push to Canada before accepting new packages.
