2021 Playoff Windex Calculation

Feel free to check my math on the below. A few things:

- Your total Windex can never be lower than 1. Both All Starz and Big Daddy would have been below 1.
- Your Windex adjusted points and the windex calculated below is always rounded out to two decimal places
- We have THREE of the six playoffs teams that scored less than the league average points (holy fuck that has certainly never happened)
- This is looking like a three horse race...place your bets and good luck.

On the back of that egregious Windex calculation, there is probably no better time than to put this to a formal vote. 

I have spoken to a number of people in the league that have asked that we implement a "Wild Card" rule for the 2022 Season. This Wild Card team would be designated as the highest scoring, non-playoff team and they would be awarded the 6 seed regardless of their record. Please cast your vote via the link below:

I am okay with this if it’s a 7 seed and only the 1 seed gets a bye.  Otherwise I think I’m a no.  Wouldn’t have worked this year with me and AE both in with low points.

Disagree. No way a team that is lucky enough to get a cake walk of a schedule should limp in at a 6 seed. Teflon and I really got hosed with our matchups but that’s fantasy. Letting 5 teams in based on standings is more than enough (I’d argue there should be two wild card teams based on points but I’m sure that would be a hard no). Looking forward to seeing the beat down of the bottom 3 take place the next few weeks!

Unfortunately, Yahoo only gives you the option of 6 or 8 teams in the playoffs. I also wouldn't mind doing 7 but that would be a pain in the ass and I aint signing up for that.

Damn I didn’t even get to make a rebuttal.

If we are changing a rule, why don’t we be additive.  Add another feeling of joy for another member of the league and add a 7th spot with this rule.

On top of it, that fight for first place would be even more meaningful.  I get the windex advantage but having only the 1 seed get a bye would be a lot of fun.

Getting only 7 teams in is super easy and not a lot of work SB.  Two ways.  8 “teams” make the playoffs and then the 8th place team benches all players in their 1v8 matchup.  If they don’t, then commish overrules outcome by removing the players.  Best case no action by commish, worst is a few clicks.

I propose an amendment to the rule that just passed to add a 7th team to the playoffs and make that seed points dependent!  

Full disclosure, me and Steve were riffing on this a few weeks ago and the first proposal was 7 seed which I absolutely loved, because had things played out slightly differently, looch would have been in via record and Lateff would have been that last seed after scoring a boatload of points.  The Teflon Don rule!

Have a thought league… I put a lot of effort into this email!

That was the impression I got when I first looked at the core of this lineup. Chubb, Saquon, Bobby
Woods, and Rashaad Penny round out the starting lineup and all of those guys are either on potentially
very bad teams/offenses or in timeshare/lame duck situations. As much as we all love Saquon Barkley, I
think it is naïve to think that the 2018 version of himself is going to walk through the door. RBs age more
quickly than presidents and while it’s romantic to think that Brian Daboll can turn things around for
Saquads, you can color me as very skeptical. I think the Higgins keep for $32 was a tad questionable but
he probably would have went right around there I suppose. Mahomes was a nice addition to this squad
to add some stability and weekly upside but I feel bad for you having to watch your RBs on the
Seahawks, Giants, and Browns every week.

I chose the bromance comedy because I feel like via my write-ups and my commentaries, AN probably
thinks I’m trying to suck him off. What can I say, the man knows how to draft an auction team and I find
that to be a very attractive trait in some I give fellatio to. I honestly had a pretty tough call to give Looch the KoD
over AN but I stand by my decision. This is another team that has upside up and down the roster and
actually has a much better bench/depth situation than the Luchinator. Lamar Jackson feels like he could
go off this season for fantasy purposes and someone I wanted as my QB but the price got to be a little
high. I really like how he structured his RB corps by snagging A Jones, Dillon, Etienne, and J Rob which
you could argue may cannibalize one another a bit but it also provides steady returns and upside if any
player misses time. Is it crazy to think George Kittle could outscore all TEs if Trey Lance is good and
targets him heavily? I don’t think so. The decision for an A- ultimately came down to the receivers that
left me a tad wanting with A Rob and Darnell Mooney as your starters. I think it’s fair to say that the
student has become the master in the Nigro household and the baton of fantasy prowess has been
passed.

The league office would like to issue a formal apology to The Fat Cat. I’m surprised that I (and everyone else) completely forgot we passed that rule change last year. 

I stumbled upon that email last night when looking at the 2021 windex calculations and considered just not saying anything because it does suck for Zach to get the rug pulled out. However, if that was ever uncovered/remembered it could have made this year’s results illegitimate and ultimately my hand was forced to make the tough decision. 

My family and I would kindly ask for some privacy during these trying times. Thank you and God Bless the MBMFL.

I would also like to extend my apologies to the Fat Cat. Beginner’s luck has certainly been kind to the league newbie the last two seasons, and I feel bad being the beneficiary of the forgotten rule change. No choice but to try to make another fluky run to the final.
