Hi everyone

Sorry if this topic was already discussed but do we have a version of stellarium for RaspberryPi 4B?

Thanks
Andreia

What did you do so far to research on this topic on your own? A search engine should have easily found this:

Depending on OS distribution, you have to build yourself or can use the Ubuntu package.

I really don’t need you sending me that.. I just would like to know if it will work on Raspberrypi 4B or not.
Anyone on this forum already installed on that device and could share your experience with me ? If so which worked better  for you? And what are the limitations ? If I have to install the packages manually which packages will work and which won’t work?
If you don’t know the answer George, just don’t answer .

Thanks
Andreia

I agree with you Andrea,

This was a very terse and rude reply… we need to treat each other with respect and consideration.

I have noticed quite rude and belittling language in this forum in the past… I am not prepared to be associated with this poor standard any more… as such I am subscribing from this collective.

Good bye… to those more helpful and creative members out there, and I wish you all clear skies!

Gary

Andreia,
Gary ,

With due respect I m not sure why both of you are so upset about Georg s answer
It was a straightforward answer with reference to a link what is very helpful for Stellarium on RPi
I will send you my answer hopefully it is seen as further clarification

1) Yes Stellarium ( in version 0.18.3 ) works for me on Raspberry Pi 4 B ( BCM2711 RPi 4 Model B  8GIG  )
Can be checked with lscpu in Linux command line and should return  Cortex-A72 if it is a RPi 4 Model B
2) I use Raspberry_Pi_OS in Version 10 Buster
   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi_OS
Can be checked with cat /etc/os-release in Linux command line and downloaded from below mentioned link
   https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/operating-systems/#raspberry-pi-os-64-bit
Flagged as Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy)
3) Installation runs through without problem as long as at least 400 MB are available on SD-card ( It needs 317 MB or more )
   From my RPi
   pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-cache search stellarium
   stellarium - real-time photo-realistic sky generator
   stellarium-data - Stellarium data files
   pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install stellarium
4) Also after install it works fine with me and I have tested two scripts ( biosky and largest_known_stars ) and they run smoothly
5) No test done with telescope attached and also no test done with Raspberry_Pi_OS in Version 11 ( Bullseye )

And as George is one of the guys who did the Stellarium user guide I think he knows what he is saying
User guide can be downloaded from the following link and is ever a good starting point for consultation

seria muito melhor se o stellarium tivesse realidade aumentada como o star walk 2
