I recently resent my Windows PC and subsequently installed  Stellarium 25.4.

The problem with this new version is that RA and HA values are given in the 0-360 degree scale, not 0-24h scale. I have a handful of Remote API scripts designed to use 24h scale and would rather not have to change the code.

I have tried F2 button but I can't see any helpful option in any of the tabs.

See User Guide, figure 4.5. Decimal degrees.

Thank you for responding so quickly.

I already have the settings changed to show decimal degrees instead of dd,mm,ss/hh,mm,ss. The issue is the scale. Stellarium  25.4 shows HA values on 0-360 degrees scale, even when the decimal degrees option is selected. I would like the 0-24 h scale in decimal notation.

Anyway, I have downgraded to Stellarium 24.1 and the issue has resolved itself.

You are the first person I learn to know in ~45 years of learning astronomy who uses decimal hours. Is that some piece of equipment that requires this?

Sorry. I am not very prompt in replying to these posts.

I am not using Stellarium to tune instruments. I am part of an ethnoastronomic/astrology community based in Kenya. Part of our practice is to get snapshots of actual positions of planets at specific times, especially from places we have identified as having significant cultural importance. Sorry if it is upsetting to know Stellarium is used by people who believe in the mythical connection of stars and planets.

I guess many people do that.  I am just surprised anybody uses decimal hours, when not dictated by some strange machinery. For traditionalists, even more...

The main reason I need the HA in decimal notation is that we do not agree that the zenith culmination is the start/end point of a celestial body's diurnal cycle. Instead, we use the setting point or 6H position as 0. My remote control API scripts automatically add 18 hours or subtract 6 hours from the Stellarium HA values to fit this perspective.

You can simply add 270 or subtract 90 degrees in the same way of thinking, and if needed divide by 15 to get the result formatted as previously.
