Hello,
I've finished post-processing Hilaire Belloc's The Cruise of the Nona on PGDP, it should be posted once it gets through the final post-processing verification and PG whitewasher steps. Once it's uploaded to PG, I'd like to work on it for SE.
This one is not illustrated, so hopefully won't take so much time. I'll need to re-familiarize myself with the SE toolkit as it's been a while.
If this is ok, please let me know, and I'll send a link to my repo once PG has posted the transcription.

Here's what I was thinking for the artwork:
Starting from this: https://wam.org/our-collection/collection/moonlight-on-the-sea/
I found a scan in this book: https://archive.org/details/albertpinkhamryd00sher/page/n66/mode/1up
I did some restoration of the painting with topaz gigapixel and nano banana.
Here's what it looks like:
I wasn't sure if we can use images processed with nano banana in the code base, so here's an "unrestored" version, just gigapixeled:
Please let me know what you think. I can probably do some restoration in GIMP without using the gemini tools.

Using AI image enhancement tools is fine. Just save the actual
unretouched/unresized original as cover.source.jpg

One question I had. For proper names in other languages, I forget--do
we modernize ligatures or not?
In this book, there's Æthelburga (Old English), Cædwalla (Welsh), and
Æolus (transliterated Greek).
Various wikipedia pages for the first two names generally keep the
ligatures, but not the transliterated Greek.
The manual provides for "Words in non-English languages like French
may use ligatures to differentiate words or pronunciations. In these
cases, ligatures are retained."
I *think* this means don't modernize the first two, but I just wanted to check.

Also, apparently "Cædwalla" is an Old-English Anglicized form of
"Cadwallon", and the guy wasn't Welsh...

Yes for ligatures in Latin and Greek names (it was a later innovation in Latin and the Greek is transliterated anyways) but probably not for Old English since the ligature is proper orthography in that context.
