I picked it up because it was No. 1 in the Guardian’s Best 100 Novels in English before realizing that list was in chronological order... Oops.
It wasn't exactly a great read, not helped by some of the commentators being pretty useless. Still, since I've gotten this far, I'll probably push through the Second Part.
