I watched Fritz Lang’s House by the River last month, and discovered it was based on this book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_House_by_the_River. It doesn’t seem particularly complicated: a handful of letters, books, ships, etc. Also some scansion. 65k words total so should be quite quick to proof; I’ll come up with cover art after I’ve read it.

OK, Lukas will manage this with David reviewing.

Cover art (if confirmed): “Nocturne: Blue and Silver - Chelsea” by Whistler. PD proof at the bottom of https://archive.org/details/lifejamesmcneil1penna/page/n288/mode/1up. I’ve uploaded it to https://standardebooks.org/artworks/james-abbott-mcneill-whistler/nocturne-blue-and-silver-chelsea.

Looks good, I've added it to the project. Before I verify though, are you sure about the title? In the book it seems to be called Nocturne (Blue and Green)

That’s what the Tate, where it’s held, call it these days. They’ve spent a chunk of time on the bibliography (that’s how I found this proof) so I suspect they’ve got the best idea on the title.

OK, ready for review on this. Note: find-mismatched-diacritics will find some mismatched diacritics: these are OK as they’re scansion marks.

Apart from that it was a pretty simple production, just the usual smattering of light semantics. Three issues reported back to PG.

Okay Robin - I'll do my best to get to it tomorrow (Sunday).

Looks great, as ever, Robin. I've got just a question and a comment for you before handing off to Alex.

On the question, can we get your opinion Alex: do you think 8.7.7.6 should apply to utterances from people with a stutter?

And otherwise, this is now ready for you, Alex.

On the question Robin raised, there are many occurrences of "stutters" marked with dashes, and a lot fewer with em-dashes. (FWIW)
(It seems Github's code search doesn't like backreferences, unfortunately.)

Alex has said before on the list that stuttering did not fall under “prosaic effect.”

“Stuttering” aLao isn’t standardized between dashes and em dashes in our sources, so I don’t see any reason to do so ourselves. Sometimes the stuttering is from indecision, which makes for longer dashes. Sometimes it’s rapid, which makes for shorter dashes.

Right, it only applies to stretched out words.

The rule of thumb is that if a line break occurred at a purposeful dash,
and the line break could hide the reason for the dash, then a no break
hyphen is needed to prevent the break. The example in the manual isn't
great because in that example the words have added vowels, but typically
that's not the case.
