The rovers have been without there manager for the last few weeks. It came out of the blue and to be honest we have all been pretty much in the dark over it since the announcement was made.
The manager had apparently messaged Gary and said he just needs to step away until easter. So good news is the boss has come back a few weeks earlier than expected.
Chris kindly stepped up in a difficult time for the rovers and has done the club well considering just been chucked into the club. The club have just publicly thanks Chris for all his hard work and appreciate him stepping up in such short notice. The rovers manager is said to have thanked him personally as well.
So with all this in mind we did manage to get a small interview with the blues manager.
Interviewer:
Hey Dan, its great to see you back in the rovers camp. We just need to ask what actually happened for you to need time away from the club.
Dan:
The truth is this, I could feel myself mentally spiralling and had a lot going on at home. Its not a life or death situation, but it was something that I couldn't get away with. Ive been in this position before where I couldn't get myself out of my own head. At the time I wasn't able to make the sort of decisions that I made this time. Last time I didnt deal with it and ended up completed numb to thr world for 6 weeks. This time ive spent time working on my issues getting my fitness back on track and its really helped.
I think as men we dont talk about this stuff enough, or even take action quick enough when we feel ourselves getting to point. So if any one ever wants to talk about anytbing my door is always open.
Im buzzing to be back and I'm appreciative of Chris for helping myself and the team out while I stepped away.
Im looking forward to the rest season, survival is what we want this season now. Anything extra is just a bonus, injuries have killed our season. We are almost back to full strength now so hopefully we can get some stronger more competitive matches for the fans.
I also need to get the youths back on track who are clearly having a hard time of it this season.
Interviewer:
Thanks for your time Dan, Thank you for your honesty and we are so happy that you are back. Here's to a great rest of the season.
