Hi. I'm using build 125.
Would like to stick to Java 8 hence at most can upgrade to build 127? (Build 128 requires Java 11, so am assuming it doesn't work with Java 8).
For upgrade to build 127, how can i get the optional libraries?
Or can I just replace sqlworkbench.jar?

Thanks & best regards,
KarHeng

What's wrong with using Java 11?

SQL Workbench can use a "local" Java runtime without any installation which will not interfere with any other Java installation on your computer
This is what the Windows launcher in build 128 will do, if you let it download the Java runtime.

Especially if you are using Windows and a HiDPI monitor (or maybe even multiple monitors with different DPI settings), I would strongly recommend going for Java 11 (or even better Java 17) and build 128.2 as that fixed some problems in that area.

I honestly don't remember which versions of the optional libraries I bundled with 125 or 127.
But it's quite possible that just replacing the sqlworkbench.jar with the one from build 127 will work.

Hi Thomas. Thanks for your reply.

Using company's laptop, we're not granted all the freedom there is. There's also Java from within Windows, Java 8 installed separately independently (& used by several software), Java that came bundled & integrated with some other software, I'm just not keen to have yet another Java installed.
It also takes up more storage.

Guess will have to use build 128 with Java 8, & try build 127 with optional libs from 125...

Thanks & best regards,
KarHeng

I did have a backup of build 125 and build 127 around, so those two are now available through the "Old Versions" page:
