Using Greek Alphabet in Editor

I'm sure this is super simple, but can someone please tell me how to use Greek letters in the Spyder editor? In Jupyter Notebook, for example, I can type "\alpha" followed by "Tab". Is there a similar way to do this in the Spyder editor? My search of Spyder's documentation and this google group has yielded nothing so far...
