Latest Spyder Mac OS App very laggy during typing

I first installed Spyder 5 via anaconda launcher. But it was very slow and I needed to remove it.

Following some advise in forums, I then installed version "Spyder 5.0.4" directly from the Spyder homepage.

At the beginning it was much better, almost fluent. Though it did not feel as responsive as a Jupyter notebook.

Now my script has about 300 lines of codes and the typing experience is a catastrophe. It is very laggy and you cannot work like this.

I thought this bug was fixed?

I am running MacOS BigSur 11.4 on a Macbook 15.4' with 16GB of RAM.
