tkinter not working in Spyder

When I run code in Spyder that contains tkinter code, I get the error 

tkinter ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

The code runs in the python IDLE.

Is this a case of having to get under the bonnet?  I'm impressed with how Spyder looks and feels, but something so fundamental as not working with tkinter, is a bit of a put off.

Is there an easy solution to this.  Could this be fixed in the next Spyder release?

Hi,

Unfortunately, we didn't notice this issue until it was reported a couple of weeks ago, so we won't be able to fix it for our 4.2.1 version because it's almost ready. However, we'll do it for 4.2.2, to be released in mid February.
