Good afternoon everyone!

Just a heads up that I've installed a repeater out in Elk. I can't currently reach any other repeaters or people, but I'll keep it up in case you're headed up Hwy 2. Pictures are attached, it's just a Rak WisBlock with a 10,000mAh battery, a solar panel, and a 8dbi antenna. It's definitely over-built, but it held up to -40 and over 100 in Montana. I'll be adding a couple of reusable desiccant packs to keep things dry. Let me know what you guys think!

Hey Spencer,

That's looking great! Is that a 10W solar panel? I'd be curious to see a link to both the panel and mount that you used, if you have them handy? It would be awesome to find some more people on the north side that could get repeaters up and get us all connected!

Hey Aaron,

Looks like the solar panel no longer exists on Amazon, but I've got a link to something similar below. The mount came with the panel, and it's not great. Once it breaks I'll just make my own. I'm going to start reaching out to the Inland Empire VHF Club to see if there is any possibility of sharing some of their repeater sites, specifically Mt. Spokane, Krell Hill, and Scoop Mountain.

Thanks,

Spencer

Yeah, I keep finding a bunch of options for mounting larger solar panels, but nothing too robust for the smaller ones. Keep us in the loop if you hear back from any of the local radio clubs, they could be a great resource!
