Hi Everyone,

Is there a preferred way to cite the sphinx package itself?  I am in the midst of writing a paper on another package I am involved in and we are trying to be extra careful about citing the software packages we use.

Hi everyone,

is there any news on that topic? I am in a similar situation and I'd like to associate Sphinx with a proper citation.

Thank you.

I'm not sure what exactly is your question. Sphinx is open-source and uses the very permissive BSD licence. You aren't required to mention, cite or attribute Sphinx in any certain way.

Hi Matt,

thank you for the reply. Open-source does not mean that there is no citation. It might still belongs to someone or some group and yet remain openly accessible. For the record, there are even journals of open-source softwares.

Anyway, if there is no citation, so be it.

Thank you.

Regards,

Greg
