In a Sphinx glossary, is there a way to have the terms appear in the left sidebar? Would help with navigation.

Resurrecting an old thread. Previously we were talking about having terms appear in the site nav (left sidebar). I have a different but related question. I have a glossary page and I am trying to get terms to appear on the page nav (right sidebar). It seems like that also is not possible? https://github.com/sphinx-doc/sphinx/blob/master/sphinx/domains/std.py#L324
