plans to add AOCC compiler class?

Hi forum,

just for curiosity, as AMD is spreading into the server rooms, are there any plans to add AMD optimized compiler [1] to Spack?

Hey Petr,

FYI: We’re working on getting compiler classes for OneAPI, AOCC, and the new NVIDIA compilers.  There is a PR with AOCC support (from AMD) here:

https://github.com/spack/spack/pull/19233

And we’’re tracking this and other compiler developments here:
