I know others have posted this question before. It is time for me to switch to a more affordable WiFi plan. So far, I have used Xfinity. What are others using in South Corvallis? I am looking for an affordable plan. I am a very light internet user. Speed is not important.
Thanks,
Kerstin

If you have a smart phone, it can be configured as a wifi access point ("personal hotspot" as they call it in iOS). It could be a cheap alternative depending on your cell phone provider plan.

I have been using Alyrica, based in Philomath. They have a variety of plans/costs. I use the cheapest, and it’s fine for my simple uses.

If you have a landline, you might be able to wrangle a decent price from CenturyLink. Speed seems fine, even for the occasional video.

Not to promote the monopoly, but if you have comcast, call and see what kinds of deals they have --- it changes often, and they also have low-income options.  My internet is more affordable than it was before I made the call.

We are new to the neighborhood and signed up with Alyrica to support a small local business. They are not the cheapest, but very responsive when you need help and you get to talk to a real person right away. So far, no waiting.

We are having very good service and low cost with Ziply Fiber – not sure what they offer in southtown.  We had Alyrica before with good service but more $$.

I'd put a plug in for Alyrica as well, for same reasons as Pauline's. So sweet talking with real persons who are quite responsive to the need.

Thanks everyone for responding and sharing your experiences.
For me, Alyrica seems to be the way to go for many reasons.

During Open Streets in June, I spoke with Ziply folks and they said they're working on bringing optical fiber internet to southtown. No ETA. It'll be good to have another option.
