For a gateway node which needs to bridge wired ethernet to wifi, must it be like in ethernet example E01 which uses an Arduino plus an ethernet shield plus the additional wifi device (ESP prefered), or has anyone successfully used just an Arduino-flashed ESP with a wired ENC28J60 connected to it ?

Your ethernet and wifi are bridged by the router, why you need this setup?

Ok, that's good if I don't need it - I had been assuming that SoulissApp was specifically connecting via wifi to the ethernet gateway, but that any Souliss wifi nodes would need to go through a Souliss wifi gateway... so thanks for preventing me from wasting much time and effort.
