Hello All,

I am a complete novice to Tasmota but I successfully flashed a Sonoff Mini R2 with Tasmota. I updated it to 12.1.1.

My issue is that the toggle works on the software to turn on the light but instructions say i should connect the grey s1 and s2 terminals to the light switch. This doesn't work.

I have tried uploading the template from the Tasmota website. I have copied it to mine but I have no idea if it updated as the information on my Sonoff isn't what I copied to it from the website. Also after i hit the activate button, its remained greyed out.

I need help to make S1 and S2 work when connected to the light switch.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

If in doubt don’t use a Template. If you get something wrong it’s very difficult to sort out where it’s gone wrong and changes sometimes don’t get implemented. Just go into Configuration>Configure Module. Select Generic in top drop down and select Save. That will then ‘untick’ Activate. After it reboots put in the GPIO information from here

Sonoff Mini R2 Switch Module (MINIR2) Configuration for Tasmota (blakadder.com)

It should look like this

It should then work

Thanks for your response. I have managed to get activate working again with your instructions but my original issue still persists. I have a Sonoff Mini R2. It has two grey terminals which I believe put out 3.3v. The wiring instructions suggest that these S1 and S2 terminals can connect to the light switch. This doesn't work for me. I even ended up purchasing another Sonoff to see if its Tasmota that has caused S1 and S2 not to work as a switch but the new one does the same thing.

I even have a basic setup on a test bed
N In --> Neutral to main
N In --> Neutral going to light bulb
L In --> Live to main
L Out --> To light bulb
S1 --> To switch common
S2 --> To switch L1

When I toggle the switch on or off, nothing happens on the light. But if I toggle it from Tasmota or even eWeLink, This works.

I am hoping someone on this forum has experienced this before.

Hellllllllp please.

Can you take a screenshot of the Module Configuration page (NOT the Template page)?

Without knowing how you have the GPIO set up it’s guesswork.

So when I set it to the screenshot you sent earlier, I lose the option to toggle on and off.

When I set it back to Sonoff Mini R2, I get the following

The second image didn’t come through on the email. Can you confirm you are entering the GPIO details in Configure Module and not in Configure Template?

What kind of switch is it?

Do you see any change in the Console when you operate the switch?

Its the regular basic UK light switch on the wall. I even tried to demo the setup on a test bed as per the photo attached. Same result.

I don't see any logs in the console when I flick the switch on or off. I can however see that 3.3v is running through it though but its like S1 and S2 are not doing anything.

Can you show the back of the switch?

Find attached as requested.

Note that I am just using this switch as a test. The regular white UK wall one way switch with Common, L1 and L2 does the same does the same.

The problem here was that the switch was a double pole switch and it was connected to the load side of live and neutral so it didn’t switch.

Plus, with respect, you are not using Tasmota so, unfortunately, you need to be asking the question in the Sonoff-Homekit forum. In fact it says specifically

It is not based on the Tasmota Fw
