Even though some features are listed under a release number, I dont see them available in any release. Hence I want to understand how to read the roadmap.

 

Specifically, I was expecting the feature  " L2 functional and performance enhancements" listed under release SONiC.202111to be available in 202211. Interestingly, I don't see that available even in 202111 or any other release.

Appreciate if somebody could shed some light on this ?

L2 functional and performance enhancements HLD and code PRs are merged in release 202111, it is supported from release 202111 onwards.

Please reference release note below on the corresponding HLD and code PRs

The release notes provide better information here is one example SONiC/doc/SONiC 201904 Release Notes.md at master · sonic-net/SONiC (github.com), You can find more by searching “release notes”. We will polish the roadmap page later.

The issue seems to arise from the fact that one of the associated PRs (https://github.com/sonic-net/sonic-utilities/pull/529) was closed and not merged.

@Yanzhao Zhang As root caused by Joyas Joseph, the reason for missing out the feature is due to not merging in the PR even though it is listed in the roadmap. Can you advise on how to proceed now ?

Pls note that #529 is pulled out from the merge list. All the core functionalities and capabilities listed in the 4 Code PRs have merged. 

There is no current plan to resubmit #529, north bound interfaces will be supported with OC YANG and SONIC YANG. Community is welcome to contribute to CLI cmds.
