For those of us not actively watching slack, has the £10k grant arrived? I see that plans are being hatched to spend a significant amount of money on electronics but no other discussion of how the money should be apportioned.

Perhaps it might be wise to communicate to the members what the current state of affairs is before deciding to spend 10% of it?

Its a proposal, not a decision. Allocation of funds is yet to be discussed, but without a theoretical budget in mind its hard to get a plan started.

Personally I was being very pessimistic, and 20% is more like it, and given the % of members who are electronics-inclined, that may be a little low.

Happy to discuss funds allocations with anyone interested, or listen to any ideas - just pile in!

The bottom line is, we have £10k to spend, and spend it we must, else we'll pay a hefty amount of tax on it. We're not going to hang around hanging onto it for that to happen. Time to make the space awesomer.

BTW, I have been reporting our finances in the #treasury slack channel for months, so nothing should come as a surprise.

I think the bottom line is that this is the first time I've seen anything stating that we have that money.

A proposal seems premature when it precedes an announcement.
