I am happy to read about this  AI integrated wearable device. See the pictures to find out how it can be worn. 'Varaprasadam' (great boon) indeed. The title is justified.

Incredible Wearable Device Can Read to the Visually Imparied, Recognize Faces and Objects

Orcam is an Israeli tech company with an incredible product: The MyEye, a diminutive AI-driven device that magnetically attaches to eyeglasses and can read to the visually impaired. It can also recognize faces and objects, announcing them on request (i.e. "What's in front of me?" "Two doors, one on the left, one on the right" or "Bill Carter"). A small speaker near your ear plays the audio, or you can opt to have the sound piped into earbuds or headphones.

Here's how it plays out:

It's even more impressive considering it doesn't require an internet connection—everything is processed within the device itself.

In addition to changing the lives of blind people, I believe this device should appeal greatly to seniors. My own vision is deteriorating due to age, and while I'm not legally blind, I could use a device like this to read labels and price tags in stores. One thing they didn't show in the video is that the MyEye can also be asked to search a body of text for a particular word—say, "ibuprofen"—and it can find it. And the putting-a-name-to-a-face feature would come in awfully handy for many of us.

Dear Dr.PVM,
This device is of great interest to me also. I have lost 80% of my vision to
Glaucoma. I can not recognize a face more than 2feet away. I can only work on computer preferably with black background.
I would like  to collect more info about it. Do you pl. have their address?
Kind regards,
RNM

Since one of my relatives is vision impaired, I also did some research.

Orcam Myeye Pro is available from desertcart.in for Rs 6,70,529. This e-shopping e site will import the device from the U.S. to India.
The price includes customs, shipping, etc., so the buying will be hassle-free. Go to the site to learn more.

Thanks for your reply, and getting further details in this regard.
I will make more enquiries and find feasibility and optimum utility of the gadget.
Comfort in wearing is another thing. Weight on earlobe to be checked

Dear Mr.Surendra Verma,
Thank you for the information. I am asking desert...@gmail.com for the literature re. equipment. That should guide me regarding the suitability of the device in my case.
I am unable to find the site or link to it. Request Dr PVM or Mr Surender Varma to help.
Regards and thanks,
RNM

Oh, oh, ho, I made a mistake by not reporting the price of the device in the U.S.

There is one thing I am very good at: making mistakes!

The price is 3500 US dollars in the U.S. (say Rs 2,73, 3000). Half the price if bought through an e-commerce site in India,

But...how many of us know what it means to import a medicine or a medical device into India, and what a nightmare it is to pay 100%+ import duty through your nose, customs charges through your ass, and go through the nightmare of providing your address proof to the chimpanzees at Bombay customs
airport.

The site I referred to boasts that it is authorized to handle all import formalities and the customers can simply pay and relax.

What is needed is this: Do not get too excited about the new device. Search the Internet for the user-feedback, and the pros and cons of the device. And whether it understands Indian English. It might read muttralaya (urinals) at a railway station as a place to make friendships!
