Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev says:

To build a strong Nation, we must nurture it with clear vision, commitment, and the courage to take the right action. It takes each one of us for Bharat to grow into the most vibrant Nation on the planet"

The statement reflects a noble aspiration..

 However, in today’s Indian political reality—marked by reservations, scams, vote-bank–centred selfish politics, and relentless identity arithmetic—such ideals remain largely rhetorical. Clear vision and courageous action are routinely subordinated to electoral convenience, making nation-building a slogan rather than a sustained, principled commitment

Instead, leadership increasingly settles for symbolic gestures: Parades ,ritualistic slogans like “Vande Bharat” and perfunctory “Happy Republic Day” messages, mechanically gets repeated year after year declaring a day holiday for people to amuse themselves loosing one day's productivity 

 Those in power avoid structural reform driving  the vision of a vibrant nation remains a slogan for a day  not a lived reality.

பிற நாடுகளை நாடாமல் தன்னகத்தே உற்பத்தியின் மூலமும் வணிகத்தின் மூலமும் வளங்களை பெருக்கி மக்களின் தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி(நிறைவு) செய்து சீரும் சிறப்புமாய் இருப்பதே நாட்டுக்கு சிறப்பாகும். அதுவே நாடாகும். அதேப்போல் தன் நாட்டை ஆள மக்களின் தேவைகளை பிற நாடுகளின் உதவியையும் செல்வத்தையும் வளங்களையும் நாடி நம்பி இருப்பது நாடாகாது. அது அந்நாட்டிற்கு சிறப்பாகாது. 

இது நாட்டிற்கு மட்டும் அல்ல. வீட்டிற்கும் பொருந்தும். ஒரு வீட்டின் (வீட்டு மக்களின்) தேவைக்கு வருமானம் ஈட்டு வாழ்வதே சிறந்ததாகும். வீட்டின் தேவைக்கு மற்றவர்களையும் கடன்களையும் நம்பி இருப்பது வீடாகாது. வருமானத்திற்கு மேல் செலவு செய்தால் அது வீட்டில் சமநிலையை விரைவில் கெடுத்து அழிவை கொடுக்கும். துன்பம் ஏற்படும்.

மேலோட்டமாக பார்த்தால் ஒரு நாடு பிற நாடுகளை சார்ந்து இருக்கக்கூடாது என்று மட்டும் தான் தோன்றும். ஆனால் பல நூற்றாண்டுகள் முன்பே தன் தேவைகளுக்காக பிற நாடுகளை நாடாத தன்னிறைவு நாடே நாடு என்னும் கோட்பாடே சிறந்த கோட்பாடு என்று (வள்ளுவராலும், தமிழர்களாலும்) நெறியாய் வகுக்கபட்டுள்ளது. இன்று வணிகத்திற்காக, வேலைவாய்ப்பை பெருக்கவதற்காக, நாட்டின் செல்வத்தை பெருக்குவதற்காக பல நாடுகளை நாடி பல நாடுகள் உள்ளன. இதற்கு உலகமயமாக்கல் (Globalization) என்று வசதியாக பெயர் வைத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் இதற்கெல்லாம் இரையாவது இயற்கை வளங்களே. இயற்கை வளங்களையை உலகிற்கே பங்கிட்டு தந்துக்கொண்டு இருப்பதால் எல்லா வளங்களும் குன்றுகிறது. மேலும் உலகமே வெட்பமயமாக்கலால் தவிக்கிறது. பல உயிரினங்கள் வாழ்விடம் உணவு முதலியவை குறைந்து அழிகின்றன. மேலும் வேலைவாய்ப்புகளுக்காக ஒரு நாடு மற்ற நாடுகளை சார்ந்து இருக்கின்றன. ஒருவிதத்தில் அவர்கள் சுயமாக ஆளமுடியாது. மற்ற நாடுகளை மகிழ்வித்து அவர்கள் மனம் நோகாமல் பாசாங்கு செய்தே காலம் தள்ள வேண்டும். மேலும் இதற்கெல்லாம் அடி நாதம் பேராசை. தமிழ் நாட்டில் வாழும் ஒருவர் ஏன் ராஜஸ்தான் சலவை கல்லையோ அல்லது இத்தாலியன் டைல்ஸையோ தன் வீட்டு தரையிற்கு பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்? ஆடம்பரம் தானே? 

மஹாத்மா காந்தி இந்த தொழிற்சாலை புரட்சியின் பின்விளைவுகளை நன்கு உணர்ந்தே சிலவற்றை கூறியுள்ளார். அவை

உலகம் முழுவதிலும் இயற்கை வளங்கள் பாதிக்குமேல் நம் சுயநலத்தால் அழிக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டன. சுரங்கம் அமைத்தல், தொழிற்சாலை அமைத்தல். கட்டடங்கள் கட்டுதல் என, பல காரணங்களுக்காக வளங்களை அழித்து வருகிறோம். மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை உயர்த்த, இயற்கை வளங்களை அழிப்பதுதான் தீர்வு என, பலரும் நினைக்கிறோம்.

இந்தியாவில் பிரிட்டிஷார் பெருவாரியான வளங்களைச் சுரண்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். இதுபற்றிக் காந்தி மிகவும் வேதனைப்பட்டார். இதுபற்றிக் காந்தியிடம் கேட்டபோது, “பூமியின் பாதியளவு இயற்கை வளங்களை அழித்து, பிரிட்டன் நாடு செழிப்பாக மாறிவருகிறது. இந்தியா போல் இன்னும் எத்தனை நாடுகள் தேவைப்படும்?” என்றார்.

காந்தி, சமூக மாற்றத்தை விரும்பியவர் தான். ஆனால், அது மனிதனுக்கும், சுற்றுச்சூழலுக்கும் பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தாதவாறு இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை வலியுறுத்தினார்.

தொழிற்புரட்சிக்கு முன்னோடியாக இருந்த ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளே, இன்று உண்மையைப் புரிந்துகொண்டுவிட்டன. இயற்கையை அழிக்கக்கூடாது என்று கருதுகின்றன. வாழ்க்கையை வேறு மாதிரி பார்க்கப் பழகி வருகின்றன.

அதாவது, தேவையான பொருட்களை மட்டுமே வாங்குவது, விவசாயம் செய்வது, சுற்றுச்சூழலுக்குப் பாதகம் வராத வேலைகள் செய்வது என, மாற்றுப் பாதைகளைத் தேர்வு செய்கின்றனர்.

இதையே தான் காந்தியும் சொல்லி இருக்கிறார். “மக்கள் மீண்டும் அமைதியைக் கொடுக்கும் வாழ்க்கைக்குத் திரும்பும் நிலை வரும்”, "இயற்கையைவிட உத்வேகம் கொடுக்கும் விஷயங்கள் பூமியில் இல்லை. என்னுடைய மனத்தை மென்மையாக்க, இயற்கை ஒருபோதும் தவறியதில்லை” என்றார்.

அவர் சொன்னது இன்று நிஜமாகிறது. இந்தியாவில், பலரும் இயற்கை விவசாயம், தேவையான பொருட்களோடு மட்டுமே வாழ்வது என, காந்திய வழியில் வாழ்கின்றனர்.

"இயற்கையால் மனிதர்களின் தேவையினை மட்டுமே நிறைவு செய்ய இயலும்,பேராசையினை அல்ல" என்றார் காந்தி.

It is best for a country to prosper by increasing its resources through domestic production and trade, fulfilling the needs of its people without relying on other nations. That is what constitutes a true nation. Similarly, a country that governs itself by depending on the aid, wealth, and resources of other nations is not a true nation, and it is not beneficial for that country.

This applies not only to a nation but also to a household. It is best for a household to earn income and live within its means. A household that depends on others and loans to meet its needs is not a proper household. Spending more than one earns will quickly disrupt the balance in the household and lead to ruin and suffering.

On the surface, it might seem that a country should simply not depend on other countries. However, centuries ago, the principle that a self-sufficient nation that does not rely on other countries for its needs is the ideal nation was established as a guiding principle (by Thiruvalluvar and the Tamils). Today, many countries rely on other nations for trade, to increase employment, and to augment national wealth. This is conveniently termed globalization. But the victims of all this are the natural resources. Because natural resources are being shared with the entire world, all resources are dwindling. Furthermore, the world is suffering from global warming. Many species are facing extinction due to a lack of habitat and food. Moreover, countries depend on other nations for employment opportunities. In a way, they cannot govern themselves independently. They have to please other countries and pretend to be agreeable to avoid offending them. At the root of all this is greed. Why should someone living in Tamil Nadu use Rajasthani marble or Italian tiles for their house floor? Isn't that extravagance?

Mahatma Gandhi, having clearly understood the consequences of this industrial revolution, made certain pronouncements. The fact is, more than half of the world's natural resources have been destroyed due to our selfishness. We are destroying resources for various reasons, such as mining, setting up factories, and constructing buildings. Many of us think that destroying natural resources is the solution to improve people's livelihoods.
In India, the British were exploiting a large portion of the resources. Gandhi was deeply saddened by this. When asked about this, Gandhi said, "Britain is becoming prosperous by destroying half of the earth's natural resources. How many more countries like India will be needed?"
Gandhi was a proponent of social change, but he emphasized that it should not harm humans or the environment.
The European countries that pioneered the industrial revolution have now understood the truth. They believe that nature should not be destroyed and are learning to look at life differently.
That is, they are choosing alternative paths such as buying only necessary goods, practicing agriculture, and engaging in work that does not harm the environment.
This is exactly what Gandhi had said. "The time will come when people will return to a life that brings peace," he said. "There is nothing on earth that inspires more than nature. Nature has never failed to soothe my mind."
What he said is becoming a reality today. In India, many people are living in the Gandhian way, practicing organic farming and living with only the necessary things.

"Nature can satisfy man's needs, but not his greed," said Gandhi.

  So today I felt so proud to see the parade exposing the strength of India WOW What a discipline  and what a feat of women. Kudos. India is advancing from number 4 to number 3   K Rajaram IRS  26126
