Supreme Court says retired judges getting Rs 19,000 pension not proper-Forward

Dear friends,

Day before yesterday, I watched in the Malayalam news  about very low 20000-00 pension of supreme court judges told by Mr Chandrachood, retired judge. I could not digest. Today I made a Google search for the information I watched was fully correct. I found the following news item in Times of India. I thought of forwarding.

When even class IV staff get pension above 30000-00 now,  still I am not able to digest how supreme court judges have such a low pension.

The Supreme Court on Monday said that retired district judges were not being given enough pension. The top court pointed out that these judges being paid 19,000 to 20,000 after such long service is not justified.

The Chief Justice said that these judges have substantially contributed to the cause of justice.

Chief Justice asks the Union to come up with a 'just solution'

Chandrachud says at 61-62 years these judges can't jump into practice

The Supreme Court on Monday said that retired district judges were not being given enough pension. The top court pointed out that these judges being paid 19,000 to 20,000 after such long service is not justified.

While hearing the matter of the pension scheme for judicial officers, the court urged the Union to find a solution, reported Live Law.

"It is a very serious issue, Attorney General. Retired district judges being paid 19,000 to 20,000 after such long service is not proper. They are really disabled," said Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

Looks so unjust. The MPs and MLAs get higher pensions even if they serve for just one term of five years.
I understand government employees get a percentage of their last basic pay at the time of retirement after 30 years or so.
To the best of my information, the judges are appointed from lawyers and may not be serving more than 15 years in total as judges and there must be a rule about their pension too.

Let us not compare

but it is a total loot by E representatives getting salaries , perks and pension
Because they are law makers, all of them gang up to protect their interests

Judicial officials are also  equally paid on pro rata basis even if they work as a judge for a year and above

Judges are selected from both bench and bar on 60:40 ratio

Judiciary is not above board with few exceptions and equally corrupt as politicians

So called all three pillars of democracy and fourth estate Media is corrupt .

Only 5 to 10 % are non corrupt and honest and committed to their jobs

Black sheep exists in all systems and they are root cause for getting a bad name .

I write or respond or react due to my know how and full knowledge in the entire govt machinery at  different levels both at state and central levels

Judges  comprise  Judiciary. Their  annulment, pension should  be completely  different than Executives  and  Legislature. In US / UK / EU -Judicial officers are  in  high esteem. Central Govt, state govt employees, legislators should  not  be  equated with  Judiciary.

Now a  days, many  Judicial officers are  dancing to  Executives  whims. Gujrat, UP courts hv lost  its stature.  Current ruling dispension are creating havoc on Judiciary. At the same time, after retirement, such Judicial officers are appointed for  Ornamental Jobs. Good   Luck  India  as  Just orders are  disappearing.

It is common knowledge that the selection of judges is not beyond suspicion.
