The Society for Anthropological Sciences is pleased to announce two summer writing group opportunities.
This year we will be hosting our annual summer graduate student writing group from July 6th to August 3rd.
We are also beginning an early career scholar writing group that will begin July 10th and continue on an as-needed basis by group members

Summer Graduate Student Writing Group
All anthropology graduate students (including those starting Fall 2026 or those that graduated Spring 2026) are invited to attend.
The group meets each Monday from 10AM to 1PM U.S. central time via Zoom on these dates:
Monday July 6th
Monday July 13th
Monday July 20th
Monday July 27th
Monday August 3rd
Each week, students will have the opportunity to:

Early Career Scholar Writing Group
This group is open to scholars that have completed their doctorate within the last five years, regardless of the position (tenure track, post doc, independent, industry).
The group will meet each Friday 12PM-1PM U.S. Central time beginning July 10th. This group will meet throughout the summer. In the Fall the time will be adjusted to meet the needs of group members during the academic semester.
The format and focus of the group will be based on participant needs but will include:
All individuals that have received a Ph.D. in Anthropology (or closely related field) within the last five years are invited to attend. Please share broadly with your networks and departments.
