This  is an initiative of Khudai Khidmatgar  to recognize the two college/ University enrolled students who are working for peace and communal harmony. The number of awards is two .
HISTORY:

Ankit-Junaid Social Harmony Fellowship & Award was started in September 2019 in the memory of Hafiz Junaid and Ankit Saxena. They both are the victims of communalism as Junaid was killed brutally in a train by an unruly mob just two days before Eid & Ankit, Killed in Delhi for loving a girl of different community.

OBJECTIVE:

The object of this award  is to nurture the seeds of communal harmony amongst the youths who will become a part of the mainstream in the future. Moreover, we need to develop creative and innovative methods of peacebuilding in the society which will help in cementing the gaps between the communities. Therefore, this fellowship also aims at bringing fraternity and unity in the society.

ELIGIBILITY:

college /university students who are working for the promotion of peace and harmony. The students  belonging to weaker sections of society, women and those who are differently abled are given preference. But we restrict self nomination.

Procedure & Amount :

The nominations will go through the strict scrutiny of our jury which is composed of experts in the field of peace and harmony.

The award includes Memento, Certificate and Rs. 5,000.

Last Date for Nominations : 1st October  2024

While the idea of the Award is excellent, I feel the amount should have been 10000/-.

More so because feelings of communal harmony and the desire for their propagation, are somehow intrinsically more prevalent in the underprivileged lot. And receiving 10000/- would be a big boost for everyone involved all around.

Just a thought.

Otherwise, the concept is path-breaking.

Regards and Respects.

Sir, I will come forward with the balance 5000/- for one of the recipients this year. Let me know in what name to send the cheque and the address details for posting or the Bank Account details for the transfer of funds.

I am hearing of this Award for the first time, though it has been instituted since some time. The fault lies with me. It is my loss.

Please keep the Award process ongoing in the years to come. This is an excellent initiative, given the current communal disharmony prevailing not just in India, but across the World.

Regards and Respects.

I agree and would be happy to contribute for next year.

Have also written to my co-sponsors on The Kodaikanal Gandhi Prize, founded in 2019, to suggest to the Khudai Khidmatgars that we might consider collaboration, should you be interested. Would also be delighted to consult you Dr. Vatvani and others in the Gandhi Prize.

Dear Faizal Sahab,

You are doing a very noble job. I want to join you in this noble job.  I am thinking along the same lines as Dr Bharat Vatwani jee. I too would like to contribute Rs. 5,000/- toward the other award fund. This way both of the awards would be 10,000/- each. I want to use Western Union to send the money. You would need to go to any WU office with a photo ID and transaction number I would send later. Please let me know when I should deposit the money in a WU office in New York. The fund would be available in any of the WU offices
I live in New York City.
Regards,
-Satinath
