Clean-Up Daze, at BFP!

Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye!

To pay for our use of the Balloon Park for the F3L International in June, we agreed to do periodic BFP clean-ups, picking up trash.  We have our first two days picked!

The first Pick-Up day is Monday, 11 May, preparing for a concert the following weekend.

The second Pick-Up day is Tuesday, 19 May, for an event that following weekend.

In each case, the park is closed to all users the day after, through the event.

The BFP provides the following:

1. Gloves

2. Trash Bags

3. A Pick-Up Grabber Thingy (who wouldn't want to use on of those!)

I plan to start about 0900 each morning.  We can combine this with flying, weather permitting.  We need only empty our trash bags into the yellow barrels or dumpsters.  We think four of us, moving in a line, can clear a panel in a half-hour or so.  If you bring a bicycle, you can use that, even on the grass.  Susan says so.

Monday, 11 May.  Again on Tuesday, 19 May.

There will be three or four more events like this.  It should be fun.

I talked to Beverly this morning.  She says to report to her office (in the Golf Center) at 0900, and she will hand out the gloves/bags/trash-grabbers.

Today was the Inaugural Clean-Up Daze at BFP.

I think it went very well.  We got a lot of trash, no one got lost, no one got hurt.  We got in, and got back out in almost exactly 90 minutes.  I think the biggest haul was in the Northern-most large tent, which apparetnly held food services for the past weekend.

The next Clean-Up Daze will be Tuesday, May 19, and start time will once again be 0900.  We meet once again at the Golf Center.  If you are late, please call me (575-642-7670) and let me know, so I can snag you a bag and a doofer for picking things up.  Drive on out through the South West Gate (your card will work) and park with the rest of us.

This is a good deal for us, for the Park and for Susan.
