Ward,
Typically La Bajada season is springtime. In the summer, the winds are more variable as to direction (it needs a west wind or nearly so). Also, it's very hot there in the summer and as monsoon thunderclouds build in the afternoons, being the highest point on the top of a tall cliff is not the safest idea.

Dave,
The 4th of July weekend used to be a common sweet spot for a trip to Greens Peak. Enthusiasm has waned considerably in recent years.
I don't recall anyone specifically mentioning this July 4th, however.
Any interest?
I have too much on my plate for a trip.

I have interest but not much time. I’m in MD, getting back tomorrow late. I was thinking Dave Seger mentioned the Phoenix guys going a while back.
I thought about heading over for a day if others would be there. I probably have too much on my plate as well but was tempted.

Cheers

Hi all, I haven't heard a peep from the Phoenix club so I checked in with them and turns out they aren't going over the 4th. B

Dave,
Here's a link to the National Weather Service forecast for Greens Peak...

The closest Weather Underground has to offer is Eager, which isn't too close...
