Yellow Jacket 1.5M F5K Electric Glider – Sonoran Laser Art

Has anyone flown one of these? Looks like a good inexpensive way to fly F5K.

There are several Yellowjackets in ASA.  One 3.5M electric that I know of and several 2M F3RES.  I haven't seen anyone with the 1.5M, but I expect it would be a great plane.  The Sonoran Laser Art planes are quality made and easy to assemble.  Greg McGill even did a very nice build blog on RCgroups for the 2M F3RES: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3500223-Yellow-Jacket-GS-Build-Log.  Cheers

Yes, indeed, I had a YJ 1.5m, and it was the usual, high quality product from Corky at Sonoran Laser Arts.  Corky flies one as F5K, but his flying does not always measure up to his designing.  He can recommend a power installation that is an excellent match to the airframe.

I've got a2M YJ wing on an all wood Xres fuse. Flies great. Uses an 1806 drone motor and a 3s battery. It's what I was flying at the contest the other day.  lots of fun. I think I'd just get the high start plane and put a motor on it.
